Main Components

1. Shell & Upper/Lower Connector Assembly

The BOP body is precision-machined with an internal diameter of 76mm. Upper and lower connectors feature 4-3/4″ × 2 ACME thread connections, secured by a union nut. Female thread protector is included for storage and transport.

2. Hydraulic Cylinder Assembly

Dual hydraulic cylinders provide balanced ram operation. Each cylinder assembly includes cylinder head, end cover, piston with Y-type sealing rings, and guide rod. Cylinders are connected by bolts and nuts for easy maintenance.

3. Pipe Ram Assembly

The BOP is equipped with pipe ram assemblies featuring rubber inner and outer seals. Under external force, the rubber seals provide large elastic deformation to evenly adhere to the sealing surface, ensuring reliable pressure containment. Three seals must engage: ram inner seal with wire, ram outer seal with shell, and shell seal with hydraulic cylinder.

4. Balance Valve Assembly

Mounted on one side of the BOP shell, the balance valve must be opened (counterclockwise) before opening the BOP to equalize pressure above and below the ram. The valve core should be tightened clockwise immediately after BOP opening to prevent seal failure.

5. Bleed-off Valve Assembly

Installed on the opposite side, this assembly includes a stop valve, pressure gauge (100MPa), quick union connections, and extended bleed-off joint. Allows controlled pressure release after operations.

All pressure tests must be conducted in a dedicated high-pressure test pit with protective measures. Pressure rise and drop shall be carried out in stages of 5 MPa with 1-minute hold between stages.

  • Yearly: Complete disassembly, dimensional inspection, hardness testing, NDT (MPI/PT), full seal kit replacement
  • 5-Year Inspection: Major overhaul with complete disassembly, recertification, and comprehensive testing
  • All rubber sealing components must be replaced if stored beyond 36 months
