The CAMTOP API 6A Casing Head Assembly is the lower component of surface wellhead equipment,
designed and manufactured in strict accordance with API 6A / ISO 10423 specifications. It serves as the
structural and pressure-containing interface that anchors the surface casing string and provides the
suspension point and primary pressure seal for all casing strings running from the reservoir to the
surface pressure control equipment. The assembly consists of a casing head housing, casing hanger
(slip-type or mandrel-type), elastomeric pack-off, secondary seal, and lock-screw arrangement — all
fully compliant with API material class, temperature range, and PSL level requirements.
CAMTOP casing head assemblies are rated for working pressures from 3,000 psi through 15,000 psi
and are available with multiple outlet configurations (studded / flanged / line-pipe) to suit varied
well-program requirements. The system is compatible with conventional Christmas tree equipment and can be

Component Architecture & Cross-Section
The CAMTOP casing head assembly integrates the following major components as shown in the cross-section
reference image above:
- Casing Head Housing — forged low-alloy steel body with bottom flange connection
and top studded/flanged outlet for the next spool up (casing spool or tubing head adapter). - Casing Hanger — slip-type or mandrel-type, designed per casing weight and
landing depth; the slip segments engage the casing string to transfer axial and bending loads to the
housing. - Pack-off Elastomer — NBR/FKM/HNBR packoff ring set automatically energised by
casing weight, sealing the annulus between casing OD and bore ID. - Secondary Seal (FS-Type) — provides back-up sealing if the primary elastomer
is compromised; allows annulus-pressure monitoring. - Lock Screws — retain the casing hanger in the housing against any
upward/downward movement during well-test or stimulation operations. - Test / Bleed / Gauge Ports — additional penetration ports on the side of
the housing for pressure-testing, annulus monitoring, and gas-lift line connections (typically 1/2″ NPT
or 1/4″ NPT). - Bolting — studded outlet connection secured via ASTM A193 B7/B16/L7 stud
bolts with ASTM A194 2H/7 nuts.
Function & Operating Principle
The casing head assembly performs three critical functions in the wellhead:
- Structural suspension — transfers the entire weight of
the casing string to the surface wellhead structure, distributing axial and bending loads through the
forged housing to the cellar deck or conductor casing. - Pressure containment — provides a leak-tight seal against
