The CAMTOP 13-5/8″ 5M psi Bolted-Cover Spherical BOP (API 16A / 16D Class) is a large-bore, forged-alloy-steel pressure-control preventer engineered for deep onshore and offshore drilling on 13-3/8″ / 13-5/8″ casing strings. The bolted-cover design — studded upper housing + flanged lower housing — allows complete field rebuild of packing elements and seals without removing the BOP from the wellhead.

Rated for 5,000 psi working pressure (7,500 psi hydrostatic body test), the unit qualifies under API Spec 16A and meets NACE MR0175 sour-service requirements. Replaceable wear bands on both the adapter ring and piston extend service intervals, while a dual-packer system (Nitrile Blue + Natural Red elastomers) supports a wide range of drilling fluids and temperatures. 7. How It Works

The CAMTOP 13-5/8″ Bolted-Cover Spherical BOP operates on the same sealing principle as a standard spherical preventer, but the bolted cover allows convenient field rebuild of the sealing element.

1. Closed Position (Default) — The spherical steel piston carrying the elastomer packer sits inside the spherical chamber. Wellbore pressure acting on the chamber, plus spring force, holds the piston closed.
2. Open Position — Hydraulic pressure applied to the chamber port drives the piston downward, compressing the elastomer packer open. Pipe can move freely for tripping or open-hole drilling.
3. Closed / Seal Position — Hydraulic pressure released; the elastomer expands and closes around the drill pipe (or fully seals an open hole).
4. Field Rebuild — Remove the upper studded cover (Stud 150659 + Nut 020111), lift off Upper Housing-Studded (152453), and replace wear bands (150613 / 152344), packers (150576 / 150577), and seals (031097 / 030770 / 031029 / 031096 / 030771 / 030772 / 031094) without removing the Lower Housing-Flanged (152451) from the wellhead.
