Description

CAMTOP Long Sweep Elbow is a forged, integral 90° bend fitting designed for use in high-pressure drilling, fracturing, cementing, and well-testing service lines. Machined from a single forging of alloy steel, the long-radius bend dramatically reduces turbulence, pressure drop, and erosion compared to a standard short-radius elbow — making it the preferred choice for sand-laden fracturing fluids, cement slurries, and oil-based mud circulation lines.

The CAMTOP Long Sweep Elbow carries integral Fig 1502 (or Fig 2202) hammer-union end connections, allowing fast rig-up and rig-down of iron assemblies without welding. Configurations are available in 2″ (10000–15000 psi) and 3″ (10000 psi) sizes, with male-female (M×F), female-female (F×F), and male-male (M×M) combinations to meet any installation layout. Manufactured and tested under API 6A and API 16C, the long sweep elbow is interchangeable with FMC Weco and Chiksan-style fittings.

How It Works

The CAMTOP Long Sweep Elbow is a single-piece forged 90° fitting with integral hammer-union ends. The body has a gradual bend radius (typically 3×D to 5×D) which is significantly larger than a standard short-radius elbow. This long radius geometry greatly reduces the local flow velocity change and pressure loss at the bend, which is critical when pumping proppant-laden fracturing fluids, viscous cement slurries, or solids-heavy mud.

Both ends are machined with the Fig 1502 (or Fig 2202) hammer-union profile, including the integral shoulder, threaded nose, and Buna-N seal groove. The mating wing nut (sold separately or supplied) clamps the two halves together with a metal-to-metal backup ring and a soft elastomer seal, providing a leak-tight, high-pressure connection in seconds.

Because the body is integral (not welded), it has no seam to fail under cyclic pressure — a critical advantage in pressure pumping services where the fitting is connected and disconnected dozens of times per job.
