Working Principle
The CAMTOP Tong Line Pull Indicator operates on a hydraulic load-cell principle. The tension cylinder (CY100, 4.08 SQ. IN. piston area) is installed in-line with the tong’s pull cable / wire-line. As the tong applies pulling force, the cylinder generates internal hydraulic pressure proportional to the load (P = F / A, where A = 4.08 in²). This pressure is transmitted via the stainless steel hose (HSS-025) to the 6″ dial gauge (G65H), which is factory-calibrated to convert pressure directly into line-pull force readings on the 0–18,000 lbs scale.
The hand pump (HJA2) is used during rig-up to bleed air from the system and to set the gauge to zero. The fluid indicator fluid (F200, 1 quart) is a low-viscosity, anti-foam hydraulic oil formulated for stable pressure readings across the full operating temperature range.
