Operation Instructions
Union Assembly (Makeup)
- Clean and lightly oil union components. Visually inspect union seal — replace if worn, torn, or cracked
- Hand tighten the hammer union connection until the wing nut ceases to rotate
- Slide the Safety Hammer adapter over the wing nut so it bears against one of the three lugs. Orient so that the impact tool striking the wing nut lug will tighten the connection
- Apply a turning force to the gooseneck handle until the wing nut ceases to rotate
- Squeeze the trigger and apply a slight turning force to the gooseneck handle
- The connection is tight when the wing nut ceases to rotate. A noticeable change in impact sound normally accompanies this
Union Disassembly (Breakout)
- Slide the Safety Hammer adapter over the wing nut so it bears against one of the three lugs. Orient so that the impact tool striking the wing nut lug will loosen the connection
- Squeeze the trigger and apply a slight turning force to the gooseneck handle
- The hammer union connection is loose when the wing nut can be turned by hand
- Complete removal of the wing nut by hand
Maintenance & Lubrication
| Frequency | Action Required |
|---|---|
| Daily (Before Use) | Pour 3 cc of air tool oil into the air inlet, even when using an air line lubricator. Check retainer components are lubricated |
| Every 2-3 Hours | If no air line lubricator used: disconnect air hose, pour 3 cc oil into air inlet |
| Weekly | Flush with 3 cc cleaning solution (run 4 seconds), then lubricate with 3 cc oil (run 30 seconds) |
| Before Storage (>24 hrs idle) | Pour 3 cc oil into air inlet and operate 5 seconds to coat internal parts |
| After Maintenance | Reassemble all parts per diagram. Lubricate air inlet and operate 5 seconds |
Troubleshooting Guide
| Symptom | Likely Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Sluggish Operation | Dirt or oil gum accumulation on internal parts | Flush with 3 cc cleaning solution (4 sec), then lubricate with 3 cc oil (5 sec) |
| Loss of Power | Worn pneumatic device | Contact CAMTOP service center for pneumatic device repair/replacement |
| Low Efficiency | Worn pneumatic device and/or impact tool | Replace impact tool first. If problem persists, service pneumatic device |
| Excessive Impact Tool Wear | Mushrooming of impact tool contact end; excessive hammering duration | Replace impact tool. Stop hammering immediately when wing nut ceases to rotate |
