U and UM BOP DSI and DVS Shear Rams

Dual string interlocking (DSI) shear rams and double V shear (DVS) rams are also available for the U and UM BOP’s. The interlocking feature of these rams providers the capability of shearing wireline and braided cable with zero tension in the line, while still maintaining a seal. The blades are interlocking by using pockets in the lower ram and arms on the upper ram to prevent any gap between blade surfaces.
DSI rams are similar to standard DS shear rams except for the interlock feature. DSI shear rams are capable of shearing tubing, small pipe, braided cable, slick line and solid sinker bar.
DVS rams are similar in design to the standard shearing blind rams expect that both blades are V shaped and inter locked.
The DVS rams are capable of shearing tubing, small pipe, braided cable, slick line and solid sinker bar.
